Northampton City Council vote will advocate for $15 minimum wage statewide


The Northampton City Council plans to vote on a resolution Thursday that advocates for raising the state’s minimum wage to $15 per hour.

The legislation, which has been introduced by the Western Massachusetts city’s Councilor At-Large Ryan O’Donnell and Ward 1 Councilor Maureen T. Carney, is a means by which local legislators can support a “statewide effort to increase the state’s minimum wage,” said O’Donnell in an email Tuesday.
